Type of DC connector for CCTV system-
The most common type of connector we use is Barrel Connector, cylindrical in shape. As you can see in featured image, it consist of outer barrel and a center pin. the most common size of connecter is 5.5mm outside diameter and 2.1mm inside diameter.
Material- Plastic construction except the metal contacts, and strain relief. This 2.1 x 5.5mm Power Plug features one power connector end DC plug male to another end terminal for CCTV camera connected. It measures approx. 1.5″ long, 0.55″ wide, 0.5″ thick.

How to connect DC PIN to Camera- Connection Diagram?
DC pin connections are very simple. As you can see in Connection diagram provided above. DC Pin has two terminals one is positive terminal and another one is negative terminal. Cross connections are not allowed in DC pin connectivity. DC Pins are comes with two configurations Male connector and Female connector.
What happen if we cross connect the connection?
Avoid cross connections, this results in short circuit. and potentially harmful for the devices if they do not have short circuit protections. hardware my get damaged. Generally power supply comes with short circuit protection so if cross connection happens power supply trips and protect the device from possible damage.
Female connector is always at receiving end of the CCTV camera, or any other devices that supports DC IN. Similarly Male connector is always at source end.
